When it comes to camellias, I can’t forget their sweet fragrance and attractive appearance. Can we plant them in pots and keep them indoors? Of course, some people have already planted camellias in flower pots, and they have developed them. Beautiful bonsai.
Camellia potted maintenance method
1. Watering
In spring, the camellia seedlings grow fast, and the branches and shoots consume water, so you can water more. During the rainy season, control water and pay attention to drainage and waterlogging prevention. Water more in the morning and evening in the high temperature period to prevent the flowers and leaves from wilting. In winter, the frequency of watering is small, and each watering can be carried out at noon, which can prevent cold and keep warm, and moisturize the roots.
2. Fertilizing
The number of fertilization of camellias is small, and more fertilizers can be applied only in critical periods. For example, fertilizing before flowering can promote the formation of flower buds, fertilizing after flowering to supplement the nutrition of the tree body, and no fertilizing in other seasons, so as to avoid the root burning of potted camellia seedlings. Phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers are mostly used for camellia fertilization, and quick-acting fertilizers are the main fertilizers for potted plants.
3. Cold protection
Potted camellias need to be protected from cold and warm in winter. When the temperature drops below zero, cold-proof measures need to be taken. Low temperatures in winter can cause flower buds to fall off earlier and delay flowering, so it is important to keep warm before flowering. It can be protected from cold by wrapping cloth strips or mounding the roots.
4. Sunscreen
Camellia likes light, but is afraid of the hot sun in summer, so potted camellia seedlings need partial shade maintenance in summer, that is, they cannot be exposed to the sun for a long time, and can be grown in places where the light is not too strong.
